Our name PowerHouse is symbolic of having the Power of God back in our homes just like the early church experienced it. The Gospel is also called the good news. The good news to all What good is it if we live a powerful Christian life in Church and not just at Christian meetings

Desmond was born in Switzerland to a Swiss Father and a South African Mother. After his teen years, he immigrated to South Africa and soon began to pursue a burning desire to learn more about God. While in Bible School he traveled to the US and met Sandy, who was also a student in a Bible School. Within a short time they knew that they were going to get married. After three weeks Desmond had to travel back to South Africa, only to return to America seven months later, ten days before their Wedding day.

They moved to Zimbabwe as Missionaries and spent the next six years in central Africa being involved in a number of ministry activities. Three of their four kids were born during this time. Justin was born in Pretoria, South Africa and Jessica and Joel were both born in Harare, Zimbabwe. Later one Janelle was born in Nashville Tennessee.

After Africa it was time to move again, this time back to America, where Desmond began to work in the business management while staying involved serving in local churches. All the while the Lord was preparing Desmond and Sandy to get their hearts ready for another move – this time to Europe. During a prayer time in November of 1998, the Lord walked into our living room and said: “Desmond, take my Word and my Anointing from the Mediterranean Sea to the Norwegian Sea and from the Ukrainian border to the Atlantic Ocean.”
It was a strong confirmation in our hearts and this powerful Word from the Lord became the mandate upon our lives and the cornerstone of our ministry. Desmond resigned from his work and we founded Desmond Frey Ministries International, a ministry dedicated to leadership focused mentoring. We left our suburban home, put the kids in a sixteen passenger van and spent eight months driving over 35’000 miles to tell as many people as possible, that Jesus called us to Europe.

PowerHouse International Church Luzern was birthed in February of 2004 with 12 people and the Zürich campus started in October of 2004 with 38 people.

• Desmond graduated from Rhema Bible Training Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa in ‘84 & ‘85
• He also holds a Masters degree in Theology and a Doctored Degree in Philosophy of Theology from Life Christian University in Tampa, Florida.
• Desmond is the European Director for “Faithful Men Ministries”
• He also serves as the Switzerland Coordinator for John C. Maxwell’s “EQUIP- Switzerland”

Sandy and I have been receiving more and more invitations to minister this life-giving Gospel all over Europe. There is a supernatural networking taking place with a new breed of Pastors all around the world – and Europe is no exception. This new breed is a group of innovative and uncomplicated leaders that are done with the choking programs of the past two decades and are unselfishly embracing the networking of each other’s callings, gifting and resources in order to reach out to a lost and dying world.
